People congregate around them so coffee tables need to feel important and personal. In this article, we’ll prove how could coffee tables be your home’s own little personality test. So, what’s your coffee table décor saying about you? Did you already think about it?
Lawrence-Bullard is a British interior designer in Los Angeles, author, and television personality. His clients typically have much trouble expressing who they are. He has designed homes for Cher, Elton John and Sharon and Ozzie Osbourne, just to name a few.
According to him, coffee table accessories are so personal they’re often the very last thing he does in a home, “They’re as important as art because they can express who you are.”
You may pay attention to 3 main principles:
1. The layered look
Use books as foundation: try to use large art books in two stacks as the initial layer. Perhaps four large books that reflect your interests on one side, with three more on the opposite side.
2. The less-is-more attitude
Start with a stack of book on just one side of the table and add a large bowl (don’t forget to color-coordinate all). Keep things low and unobtrusive.
3. The mood changer
Create a focal point, like statues, metal figurines, a tall wooden candleholder or a simple and elegant flower arrangements.
