Lara Bohinc has been redefining modern design and setting design trends with outstanding and different pieces. With a revolutionary mindset, she passes her knowledge and imagination to the paper and it results on iconic luxury furniture.
In her most recent collection, The Lunar Collection, she took a contemporary design to a whole another level. With space inspired pieces and marble work, she made a powerful statement and reminded us of the marvels of interior design. Here you can see her most beautiful side and coffee tables from The Lunar Collection.
Solaris Kinetic Table
Designed for the Wallpaper Magazine Handmade exhibition in Milano Salone del Mobile, the Solaris Table is constituted by four stacked rings of marble plates. A curious and amazing detail is that you can change the plates really easily. They can go from a closed circle to twice its side when opened outwards. This smooth rotation you can make connects to the orbits of the planets or even Saturns’ rings. A true masterpiece.
Orbit Tea Table
This table demonstrates Lara’s expertise with metal work techniques whilst keeps her celestial signature of the collection. The circular fold in the middle of the two semi circles becomes really useful for your magazines while giving a sophisticated contemporary design to your home decoration. The Orbit Table was handmade in Italy combining ancient craft and modern industrial techniques.
Sun And Moon Coffee Table
With bisected discs echoing planetary forms, the marble inlays create surface patterns and remarkable solder joints in the middle that intend to enhance the imperfection yet convergency of the piece. Getting inspiration from Venice buildings and using ancient techniques like Pietra Dura or Opus Sectile, the combination of Verde Guatemala, Carcatta, Monclair, Fior di Bosco, Nero Marquina and Picasso give this piece a superb and marvelous design.
Orbit Coffee Table
Constructed from three tiered tops: round, oblong and square, the piece manages to evoque geometric forms, airy and dynamic shapes and thin lines at the same time. Orbit’s copper surface contrast with the black legs and is finished with verdigris – a patina whose color has been gradually intensified until it created an intense shade of blue-green. Also remoting to the Art Deco age, this cosmo inspired piece is a result of Lara’s incredible imagination and expertise.
Full Moon Side Table
Following the same design than Solaris Kinetic Table, this side table also takes inspiration from the planets and their orbital dynamics and movements. It features richly-colored marbles set, precious jewels and gold-plated steel rims. Combining exclusive colors, ancient techniques and materials and the mastership of the craftsman, you get an exclusive and unique design table.
This collection represents a statement, a change in interior design. Represents Lara Bohinc having an idea that is so complex and hard to execute and she gathers her best resources to make a formidable ovation to the universe, which is a really hard subject to represent in this area. The pieces are unique, made with the best materials, intense colors and expertise of italian craftsman. Get inspired by this collection and start preparing your living room decoration!
