Vincenzo De Cotiis, an iconic name from the Carpenters Workshop Gallery, was born in 1958 in Gonzaga, Italy and studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano before founding his studio and architecture practice in 1997. He creates some of the best furniture designs, including coffee and side tables and today, we are about to show it all to you!

Vincenzo De Cotiis finds inspiration in classical art movements, from the Italian Baroque to the French Impressionists and their transition en plein air. Interpreting these movements using a contemporary lens, De Cotiis approaches his modern design work as a painter would, considering the light, color, and materials. Isn’t this coffee table design absolutely marvelous?

In his modern coffee tables, he aims for perfect imperfection, achieved through the deconstruction, re-construction, and re-appropriation of salvaged materials such as fiberglass, stone, and wood.

Vincenzo De Cotiis masterfully weaves together salvaged and reclaimed materials – the signs of their age left intact – with precious materials such as Indian jasper. The original form of the materials is often difficult to identify, but their histories are always visible.
